Join Sacramento artist Betsy Gribble for a hands-on workshop exploring an ancient, meditative fiber technique used to create nets, bags, and sculptural forms—without knots. Participants will learn the basics of looping and tension to build flexible, durable structures, then apply the technique to wrap or encase found objects like stones. All materials provided and all levels welcome.
About the Artist:
Betsy grew up and currently resides in Sacramento, CA. She got an art degree and also one in Humanities/Religious Studies from CSU Sacramento. Weaving is in her soul, however, and Betsy found baskets in 2012, after discovering that loom drafts involved too much math to be fun for her. Now, basket making fills Betsy's need to work with color and texture, with endless opportunities to learn new things.
